Neue Stadt Kultur e.V. presents the opening concert of the new concert series Crossings!

Crossings stands for the meeting of different genres, styles and playing styles, but also for the crossing of the musicians' paths with those of the audience. We meet at the crossroads and experience time together.

Our guest is the RAGE project by Belarusian flautist Maruta Staravoitava. It combines flute, electronics and sand animation. It is intended to draw attention to the fate of political prisoners, especially women, in Belarus. The experiences told are not just individual stories; they also reflect the collective grief and resistance of an entire people fighting for democracy and human rights.

RAGE is based on oral interviews and written correspondence with people who have experienced the horrors of the Belarusian regime and the brutality and arbitrariness of its penal system, or who are still suffering in prison. Each person…
